The Other You, an independent film made locally in and around Washington, D.C., is a surreal comedy about a writer, wife, and mom who finds a door in her closet that leads to another version of life. The film fits into the current zeitgeist of women exploring midlife experiences. It creates opportunities for discussing gender roles in families, the mental load, and how women can make space for creative work.
Writer/producer Julie Gold is a SAG/AFTRA actor, clinical social worker, wife, and mother with a long-standing interest in emotional labor. Julie, a published children's poet, has also written for Forbes and Fortune magazines.
Director/producer Shoshana Rosenbaum makes films that use magical realism, science fiction, and horror to explore alternate realities and gender dynamics. The Other You is her debut feature film. She is a married mom of three who is always interested in genre takes on family and parenting. Producer Robin Noonan-Price is an Emmy-nominated producer, director, and founder of Robin's Nest Media Productions. Her recent short, Gloria's Birthday, is on the festival circuit. Robin served as President of Women in Film and Video-DC from 2018-2020. Casting Director/producer Kimberly Skyrme's work spans three decades and includes independent and studio feature films. She was the president of Women in Film & Television International for five years and is a founding member of the Television, Internet & Video Association and The Peer Awards. Director of Photography Anne Saul is a cinematographer, gaffer, educator, musician, performance driver, and mom. She taught film production at George Mason University and is an owner/operator, GalsNGear mentor, and a National Association of Broadcasting speaker.
